Lamar Community College Softball Team -
LCC Coach
Craig Brooks and some of his players stopped in for a quick
visit on the team and how they were doing this year. Lion
Randy Welborn was the program chair


Wiley Work -
Wiley presented a program on the ongoing
used eyeglass collection and on the history of the Lions
organization.



Time to Serve the Pancakes!
The annual pancake breakfast for Lamar Days, May 12,
2008 will be held during at the Lamar Masonic Lodge on
Main Street (Next to the Lamar Theatre). Tickets are only $5
for adults and $3 for children.

Center accepts the award as 2006
organization of the Year for their work on
a diabetes collaborative that benefits
more than 400 patients in SE Colorado.
The diabetes program has been
recognized in national publications for
their efforts on reducing the
complications of diabetes and managing
the illness.

Year Ken Callison. Ken has been active
as site chairman, worked on getting a
special program (see Darcy Lytle below)
and has handled many fund raising
activities for the club.

Q. - What are some of the service
projects of the Lamar Lions Club?
Answer - The Lamar Lions Club primary
mission is sight/vision conservation.
Additional programs include: community
service programs such as the Highway
50 cleanup; helping with the Holiday
Basketball Tournament; serving
breakfast for community events
sponsoring a child to the Colorado
Lions camp for hearing or visual
impaired children.

Q. - Where did the club meet during
the summer picnic schedule?
Answer - the Lamar Lions club had a
wonderful series of evening suppers at
various members houses.
